DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: His left leg was amputated at the knee, and he walks with a crutch. He keeps his sword strapped to a hip with an ornate belt. His clothes are weather-beaten. His accent is muddled; it's impossible to place it's origin in any particular country. A few superficial scars, very coarse palms, very nice beard. He's quick to smile and affect a friendly demeanor in any social situations.

Quartermaster of The Walrus, the unaligned ship that glided into Kirkwall's harbor more or less uninvited. Currently seeking more secure housing arrangements, John is bunking a public house while he considers how to procure a viable source of income. He doesn't keep to a very set schedule; where he can be found fluctuates from day to day. Finding your nearest Walrus man and inquiring after him is the best place to start.

Reputation

The man behind all the boogeyman stories of Long John Silver that have leaked out of Nascere. Most prominent among those tales are of John walking into a tavern and crushing a man's skull under his peg leg or of the distribution of black spots signaling death to the recipient. It's impossible to tell what's true and what's embellishment.

Nascere and it's pirates are embroiled in plenty of gossip of their own: slave uprisings, stolen Qunari gatlock, a traitorous Tevinter magister, violent pillaging of adjacent coastal cities, so on and so forth. Rumors about John may or may not mix with rumors about Nascere.

Persuasive and charming, John strikes very favorable first impression. He's easy to like.

He's very serious about the Inquisition Riftwatch. He's invested in seeing it flourish, and that'll bear out in how he approaches any work he does regarding it.
